Detailed Product Description

Save Time, Money AND Hard Work With an Eliminator XTreme Cover! Proudly Made in Canada!

A blue mesh line runs down the center of the cover. During the winter, ice and snow envelop the cover weighing it down in the center. As the snow melts in the spring, the water filters through the mesh line. As a result, the cover slowly rises. When the ice has melted, the cover is stretched tightly across the pool. Any debris, leaves or dirt dry up and simply blow away and your cover is clean and free of debris. Simply unhook the straps, rinse it off and fold it up. Your pool water is leaf free. You save hours of time and hard work. No more pumping water off your cover! No more piles of leaves in your pool! A superior above ground pool Winter cover unlike any other in the market! Note: Not for use with any soft sided pool models (Intex, Bestway, etc).

IMPORTANT: Do not lower water level before installing, read installation instructions for proper installation method.

Above ground Eliminator XTreme Winter Covers - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the Eliminator Xtreme Cover with my inground pool?

No - our eliminator winter covers are for aboveground swimming pools only.

Decking- What if I have a full deck around my pool?

The Eliminator Xtreme can now be stretched across the pool and onto the deck. The deck walkway however needs to be a minimum of 36" in order to anchor the straps. However, in some instances eye bolt anchors will be needed to attach the 'S' hook.

What if I have a partial deck?

In most instances the cover can switch from vertical anchors to horizontal for the deck part. Eye bolts may be required for this.

Will the cover go around a fence kit attached to the pool?

In most cases the cover will go around a fence attached to the side of the pool.

Why don't I have to drain my pool? Will draining not crack my skimmer or return?

The design of the Eliminator Xtreme pool cover is different from the traditional cover. The return jet must be plugged, and the water level should be lowered to the bottom of the skimmer screw line to insert the dam. The dam is optional to use and is an added feature to maximize water conservation. Regardless of whether the skimmer dam is used or not, the skimmer drain must be kept open and unplugged so that water is not trapped in the skimmer body. Add foam or solar blanket material inside the skimmer body to prevent ice damage.

What if I have an in-jet light in my pool?

Remove the light bulb as per normal, in most cases a rubber plug is required (#9) to seal off the return. It is not necessary to drain below the return; all that would need to be done is remove the bulb and quickly insert the plug. You might get wet, but it’s better than draining below the waterline.

Will drilling into my vertical posts crack/ rust/ weaken them? Void Warranty?

No - the system is no different than attaching a fence kit to the side of the pool. The mounting screws are 3/4" in size.

Can I or should I use my old cover and leaf net along with this new cover?

We do not see any advantage to this but it might be necessary in very high leaf areas to combine a leaf net on top of the cover.

Will attaching the cover with bungees collapse my pool?

No - the vertical bungees put very little stress on the pool.

Why can't I just attach my traditional cover with bungees that I buy at a hardware store?

No - it simply will not work. The Eliminator cover is quite different in design.

How much longer will this cover last than a traditional cover? Why?

We expect the Eliminator Xtreme to last on average up to 7 years. This is because the wind stress is much less and your cover is not sitting on water or chemicals.

Do I have to plug my return jet?

Yes - the water level must be be above the return at all times. The recommended water height is at the bottom of the skimmer.

Do I have to put the skimmer dam on?

No - this is optional. It is only there in order to maximize water conservation.

How long does it take to install? How many people?

With 2 people it will take less than 45 minutes.

Important note: Eliminator Xtreme Winter covers are not safety covers.

Customer Reviews

I love this cover. It was easy to install and I am able to put it on and take it off single-handedly each season on our 15' round pool. Absolutely no isses with durability after 3 years. I had a problem with the metal skimmer faceplate and contacted the company and they provided a foam one right away, free of charge. I still do find that water leaks a bit around the skimmer, but not too much. This makes spring opening a complete breeze! I do not beleive there is a better winter cover anywhere, at any price!

Hello everyone, This is our second Nova Scotia winter with this cover. Our winters are all over the place with regards to precipitation, temperature, and weather. We often get snow, followed by rain, followed by flash freeze. The cover is still excellently condition. The key is to allow it to move downward with the weight of the snow on top. My cover moves up and down throughout the winter. Right now it’s back to where it was, and how I installed it, taught! …because there’s nothing on it. I’d add pictures, but I don’t see an option. Hope this helps.

I really like this product so far. Installed it about six weeks ago and it works as described. Practically no leaves at all and the water seeps through. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of five is because of the inlet plug they provide. My inlet does not have any threads inside of it and is smaller than what they think it is. Seems sizes are not standard for inlets. I tried the inlet plug in other family member pools and they all had the same problem. Also the skimmer blocker does leak - even with copious amount of waterproof sealant. The solution to the inlet plug was that I bought a rubber plug with a wingnut on top and a plate below that expands as you tighten the wing nut. There are a few problems with this - you risk breaking your inlet tube if you overtighten. The colder it gets the more the rubber shrinks. I'm hoping mine stays in place until the pool freezes and then does not move again during the spring thaw. Time will tell. Otherwise I do like the concept.

We have a 24ft pool and it was extremely difficult to put on. It took 4 people to put it on the first time. It had to be readjusted a second time so I have more holes on the legs of the pool because we couldn't get it tight enough. It still sags in the middle! It did not come with padding to go under the cover where the bungee cords attach to the legs. We live in NS and it will be a miracle if our pool is still standing when Spring comes!!

Review by Kristeena G on October 27, 2021

Best winter cover we ever had! We left it on until we were ready to swim on June 1st 2020 and because there were no leaves or anything on the top we just took it off, then washed it off (only a bit of dust from wind - no leaves or tree junk) and let it dry on the driveway and then folded and put it away. The cover heated the pool and because it was still mostly full we only added a bit of water and opening chemicals and we were in swimming after only a day. We had a trouble-free pool all summer. There is some onetime setup time installing the clamps for the bungee cords. The now did not build up on it, even when it was very wet snow. Being flat the snow easily blew away.
