The Alps 52 inch step is used specifically with semi inground steel wall pools. This step can be fully excavated into the ground, or remain above grade using 2 pieces of rigid, 1.5 inch PVC pipe (not supplied) and concrete base as support. Using a Fiberglass step from Alps allows for crisp and straight edges on the treads and sides versus what a bulky, thermo plastic step would provide!
