Been an outstanding unti for our 21' Above ground pool.
You can't even buy it for this price from the manufacture this is a true deal and I am thankful to have found Pools Supplies. 5 Stars.
We bought the Pro500 in May 2013 for 21 feet pool and for the first 2 years the thermopump work very well. This June, impossible to start the thermopomp ... just few days after the warranty ! Error code LP3, when I called Aquapro Customer service, the girl say to wait to have a warmer temperatur because it was probably to cold. After 1 week of nice weather (50F during night and 75F during day) ... same error code LP3 ! I never had problem during 20 years with my old one ... desapointed !
I'm a bit disappointed with this unit. It warmed up the water no problem from the initial start-up of 64°F to 78°F in about 24 hours. My issue is I want to bring it up to about 86°F and it appears the most I can get it to is 82°F. I have a 24' pool and I know I am at the smallest end of the recommended size heat pump for my size pool but one would think that if it was able to heat the water that quickly, it would be able to give me those few extra degrees I'm looking for.

The manual is very poor in explaining the water flow ranges. I believe my model is rated for water flows between 30 and 80 gpm. I understand the low end cause the unit needs a minimum amount of flow to dissipate the heat. What I don't understand is the upper range of 80 gpm. Is this saying that at a higher flow, I won't get the maximum performance out of the unit? How can one measure the water flow? I have a Hayward 1HP TurboFlo II pump. Is there anything I need to do to get my water to the temperature I want? We do put the solar blanket on at night.
Hi Mike,

You should use the recommended 20 Amps the max you can use is 25 Amps. Please feel free to give us a call if you have any other questions.

Is it better to use the recommended 20 AMP or should I use 30 instead
Hi Mike,

30 Amps is the max for the AquaPro 50,000 BTU Heat Pump.

This Aqua Pro electric heating pump is a bit slow to start but after a few hours it does make a big difference! Electricy bills are lower then my gas bill would be too like the sales guy told me it would be!!
