Buyer beware. These pool heaters are 'garbage'. Not my words, that came from the technician who services them. Our heater came with a manifold leak which was subtle at first but grew into a large leak. We used it for 4 weeks last summer and now it doesnt work. Pentair suggested the noise it was making is something they've never heard in 15 years. It's still under parts warranty but no technician will travel to my location to diagnose and Pentair customer support has been terrible to deal with, simply offering to send one part at a time, wait three weeks, install and still doesnt work. Good luck getting a hold of anyone over the phone at Pentair as I've spent over 15 hours on hold with customer service. They'll rarely answer an email when it's convenient for them. I've had 2 gas appliance technicians come out and neither could diagnose the issue and Pentair wont offer a replacement. Beware if you are purchasing this heater from Pool Supplies Canada, it comes with PARTS only warranty so you are on your own. After such little use, the company should simply send a replacement heater but they've suggested the noise could be something that's not covered under warranty. One very unhappy customer. I've built several pools and always used Hayward heaters but PSC sold this to me as a package. The unforunate thing is unless I want to replumb my pool and install a new vent kit, I'll have to order another one of these garbage heaters

Don't buy Pentair! I bought the Pentair Mastertemp 125 - it lasted approximately 4 year, it is hard to get parts, plastic components like the manifold and temperature sensor. No one local services this brand and Pentair support is not there to help when there is an issue. Pay the extra and get a Hayward.

Heater broke after two seasons. Water leaking out of it. Had to remove.

PURCHASED THE PENTAIR 125,000BTU GAS POOL HEATER 06/2021....THE HEAT EXCHANGER BLEW OUT BY 09/2024..THAT IS 3 YEARS OLD AND NOW A NEW ONE IS NEEDED. HOW IS SOMETHING SO EXPENSIVE GIVEN A 1 YEAR WARRANTY AND ONLY LAST 3 YEARS. SO DISAPPOINTED AND UPSET THAT $2000.00 DOESN'T GO AS LONG AS THE MANUFACTURER STATES AT 15-20 YEARS.....DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!!!!!!

Pentair Mastertemo 125 lasted about a year and the manifold started leaking on the bottom. Had it repaired under warranty. Lasted two years and the control panel stopped working properly. Service heater message appeared. Then it started leaking on the bottom again. Had it for almost 5 years and has been nothing but problems since we purchased it. Of course it ran out of warranty and now we have a useless steel box sitting beside our pool.

Heater failed within 2 years. Out of warranty and received no support from Pentair. Replacing with a Hayward.
